According to Pew Research 28% of American Adults did not read one single book last year. Overall reading has gone down 4% in the same time frame, eBook reading remained flat.
The article, Slightly fewer Americans are reading print books, breaks down the demographics further, and is part of a much larger report on Libraries at the Crossroads – The public is interested in new services and thinks libraries are important to communities. Very interesting reading over the state of our public libraries.
I know that my reading time has suffered because I play games on my phone at times when I used to read, but to not have read a single book in the last year just boggles my mind!
